Mayor Richard Daley talks 2016 Olympics
Michigan Avenue centerfold Mayor Richard Daley talked about Chicago’s bid to get the Olympics Tuesday night at a cocktail reception at the Blackstone Hotel.
“I’m very honored to be here,” Daley addressed the crowd. “Chicago is a city with a vision and a future. We won the domestic bid because of the passion of the city, from volunteers to companies investing – the people are really behind it.”
Daley went on to outline the plans for the layout of the future Olympic Village and his vow to build whether or not Chicago is awarded the 2016 Olympic Games.
He also cracked a joke about his appearance on Michigan Avenue magazine’s latest cover saying, “This is the best publicity I’ve gotten in a long, long time.”
We’re glad da Mayor is hardcore working it to land the Olympics in the Windy City!
